Dairy Wastewater Treatment with ProBiotic Scrubber® I

MU Juice Dairy has used BioLynceus® ProBiotic Scrubber® I as part of its wastewater management program.

According to Jeff Lewis, the treatment produced noticeable improvements in lagoon odors, floating solids, truck lines, and separator pit maintenance.

Reduced Wastewater Lagoon Odors

One of the most noticeable improvements was a reduction in odors coming from the wastewater lagoon and surrounding dairy operation.

Lewis reported that BioLynceus® ProBiotic Scrubber® I helped improve odor conditions throughout the facility.

Cleaner Truck Lines and Separator Pit

The dairy also observed improvements in its truck lines and separator pit.

According to Lewis, microbial treatment helped reduce accumulated organic material, allowing the facility to clean and empty the separator pit less frequently.

This resulted in savings in both maintenance time and operating costs.

Simple Automatic Application

ProBiotic Scrubber® I was also easy for the dairy to incorporate into its existing wastewater system.

The appropriate amount of product was automatically drip-fed into the waste stream using a metering valve powered by a 9-volt battery.

This simple application method allowed the dairy to maintain consistent biological treatment with minimal operator involvement.

Floating Solids Reduced Within Three Weeks

Another significant improvement involved floating solids on the wastewater lagoon.

Lewis reported that the floating solids were eliminated within approximately three weeks of beginning treatment.

The observed benefits included:

  • Reduced wastewater odors

  • Fewer floating lagoon solids

  • Cleaner truck lines

  • Reduced separator pit maintenance

  • Lower maintenance time and costs

  • Simple, automated product application

“We have been using BioLynceus® ProBiotic Scrubber® I and are impressed by the remarkable reduction in odors coming from our wastewater lagoon and dairy in general.”
