San Juan Refining Company began injecting ProBiotic Scrubber® I into our three aeration lagoons to reduce sludge. The injection point was installed at the beginning of the wastewater treatment unit.

In February of this year we performed a sludge judge on each of the three aeration lagoons and discovered that we have decreased the sludge level in each pond significantly. In some areas the sludge has decreased three to four feet.

The success of injecting ProBiotic Scrubber® I to decrease sludge levels has exceeded our expectations. As a result, we will not have to shut down the wastewater treatment unit to clean and dispose of sludge that has accumulated in the three aeration lagoons. The refinery has saved a tremendous amount not only in money but also in down time.
