Wickenburg Country Club Turf Management Testimonial

Floyd White, Golf Course Superintendent at Wickenburg Country Club, has used an organic BioFlora® turf-management program for approximately six years.

After testing several liquid fertilizer combinations, he settled on a program using BioLynceus® Humega®, Fulvex®, TurfMaster®, and BioFlora Iron®.

Liquid Fertilizer Program for Golf Greens

White’s program includes:

  • 5 gallons of Humega®

  • 5 gallons of Fulvex®

  • 5 gallons of TurfMaster®

  • BioFlora Iron®

The mixture is diluted in approximately 150 gallons of water and applied across ten golf greens totaling about 50,000 square feet.

According to White, the program has supported healthy, consistent turf conditions on the greens.

Reduced Disease Pressure

One of the most noticeable observations was a reduction in visible fungal problems.

White reported experiencing very little fungal disease pressure on the greens while using the program.

Because many factors influence turf disease—including temperature, humidity, irrigation, turf species, and cultural practices—the result reflects the experience of this specific golf course rather than a guaranteed disease-control effect.

Flexible Foliar Application

White also values the application flexibility of the liquid program.

According to his experience, the products can remain on the turf for up to 48 hours before irrigation, providing additional flexibility in scheduling golf course maintenance.

The liquid fertilizer program is used as part of a broader foliar and soil-health management strategy for the greens.

Slow-Release Fertilizer for Fairways and Tees

In addition to the liquid program, Wickenburg Country Club uses BioFlora Dry Crumbles® 6-6-5 + 8% Ca on fairways and tees.

White prefers the product because of its slow-release nutrient characteristics and the fact that it does not require immediate watering after application.

This gives the golf course more flexibility in managing larger turf areas.
